| DUNSFOLD WINGS AND WHEELS
04.JUNE 2005 This was held at Dunsfold Park, an airfield not now used much for flying. The event was a spectacular aviation and motoring display to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the end of the second world war and the 70th anniversary of the first flight of the Hawker Hurricane. This is the location used by the BBC for some of the testing on cars for 'Top Gear'. Keep a look out for the Jumbo parked on a taxiway. The Jumbo 747 flew in from Gatwick about a week before the event. She has been in service with British Airways, European and Air Atlanta during her working life. The reason for her arrival at Dunsfold seems to be that she is destined to be a film star! Here you will see some of the magnificent aircraft taking part in the air display and other visitors who flew in for the event. Great weather made for a great day! |
