FARNBOROUGH AIRSHOW

A visit to this airshow held every 2 years did produce a few new types and schemes.

The week had been very hot and sunny and Saturday was no exception, as we started out by car for the day. Rain had been forecast though, so we started touring round the static aircraft display shortly after arrival. This was a good move as all was seen and photographed in sunny conditions, finishing just after the flying display began.

However it wasn't long before there was a definite blackness in the sky and as thunder and lightening ensued we put on our raincoats,
having noted that the weather was coming our way.

There was a lot of rain but it did not last too long. Most of the pilots coped with conditions very well once the storm had passed overhead and I believe only 2 or 3 flights were cancelled, with these aircraft taxiing along the runway to be seen by the spectators. Then out came the sun again to give a good finish to the show.

Two major attractions to the show were the A380 Airbus and the Osprey.
