| DUXFORD FLYING LEGENDS AIR SHOW
08.JULY 2006 We were treated once again to a magnificent display of aircraft in glorious hot sunny weather. One of the main aircraft on show was the F6F Hellcat, aquired by the Fighter Collection in 1988. The Spitfire has had it's 70th anniversary this year and always features highly in Flying Legends Air Shows. History was made when 3 Bristol F2B Fighters took to the air for the first time since they were retired from the RAF in the 1930s. Another special was the Breighton's Buchon with the Hispano HA-1112-M1L C.4K-102 making an appearance. Also a good number of Mustangs,Hurricanes, Corsairs and Grumman Cats filled the skies and there was a French B-17 to accompany 'Sally B'. The C-47 Dakota 'Foundation of Norway' was an interesting participant too. Click on photo for a bigger image. There is a 'Slideshow' button of you wish to use it. |
